Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I need to figure out how to get this forum to email me when there are new posts. Anyway... Version 2.1.0 did have this problem reporting to game center. The update to 2.1.1 or to 2.2 should fix it I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'the outgoing was bad.' Have you been able to update to 2.2? What exactly is happening now? One suggestions is to force quit out of the app and out of game center and then go back in to everything. 1. hit the home button on your iphone to quit out of everything. Please let me know how this goes. I don't want you to lose your score either. |

Thanks for the tips. The phrase "outgoing was bad", I tried to say that the app did not start at all. I could solve the starting problem with the procedure you described. Unfortunately, that did not cure the crash during the interaction with the Game Center. Since the app started to upload the result immediately, this could be only solved by removing the application and redownloading it from the app store. (Probably, I could have used the airplane mode to prevent the app from trying to upload the result, but unfortunately I did not think of that possibility at the time). That worked out well, but with the big disadvantage, that my total score in the Game Center leaderboard is not updated anymore. It remains at 130'861 points, and I suppose, that it won't get any higher until I reach the same number of points again. This is undoubtedly a incredible tragedy for me. I presume that the app tracks this number locally. Therefore, I propose a change in design: the app should fetch the total score from the Game Center before adding a result. This could solve (or ease) my score problem and it would serve players who use more than one device to play Big Bad Sudoku book. They probably have the same problem as well. Still, a great app, and if you don't mind, I add some proposals for future versions: - I regularly hit a number button when I try to set a mark (especially when playing the game on the train). In order to avoid the -18 points, it would be useful to separate the marks fields from the numbers fields, at least for the small iPhone screen. - I am under the impression that the app is consuming quite a bit of battery power. Maybe I am wrong, but when I play the game, the battery is drained quite quickly. If that's true and a fix is possible, I'd appreciate it very much. - I special "error sound" could prove useful. |

Sorry that you lost your score. Unfortunately that is the way it works. Once you pass your old score it will start updating game center. I can't download the score from gamecenter because it only stores some of the information. Game Center isn't set up to store the information behind a score. Every piece of info that it stores has to be a reported score, and it only will store the highest of each category. We store a lot more info like the number of games in each category, score details on each game in the campaign mode. So it doesn't exactly allow us to do that. Next week our special christmas version of Sudoku Book (Snow Day Sudoku) will be out and in that one we made the marks entry be a separate box from the number entry. So hopefully that one will work better for you. I'll email you a free download code for it next week. Although it has a completely separate game center entry and so you would have to start over on your scores there too. The battery problem is interesting. I've not done testing on that but I don't doubt it. This is something that we'll look at. Thanks for communicating here. |
